Does smart home technology work with what I already have?
In most cases yes — we work with your existing infrastructure wherever possible. We’ll assess your current setup and recommend what can be integrated vs. what should be replaced. We never push a full replacement if it’s not needed.
Which smart home platform do you use — Alexa, Google, or Apple?
We work with all three — Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. We’ll recommend the best fit based on the devices you already use and your preferences. We can also build platform-agnostic systems that work across multiple ecosystems.
Is it difficult to use after installation?
That’s our top priority. We design systems for real people, not tech enthusiasts. Before we leave, we make sure you and anyone in your household or team can use everything comfortably. We also provide written instructions and remain available for questions.
What if the internet goes down — does everything stop working?
We design systems with local control in mind — most devices continue to work on your local network even without internet. Physical switches and controls always remain functional as backup. We’ll discuss this during the design phase based on your specific setup.
Can I start small and expand later?
Absolutely — in fact we often recommend starting with one or two rooms or features and expanding from there. We design every system with future expansion in mind so adding more devices later is seamless and cost-effective.
How much does a smart home setup cost?
Our labor rate starts at $75/hr for smart home and office work. Project costs vary widely depending on the number of devices and complexity — a single-room lighting setup can be under $300 in labor, while a full home automation system may run several thousand. We always quote upfront with no surprises.
